Welcome!

As an avid reader, I’ve always been drawn to a good story. Give me a cup of hot coffee and an interesting book; I’m happy all day. I’ve always loved books, all types of books. As a young girl, my parents encouraged me to read, and growing up, I spent many long hours with my nose in a book. My appetite for reading only increased as I grew older. When I retired from my job in higher education, my sister gave me a blank journal urging me to follow my passion. That, coupled with the desire to tell my grandmother’s story, led me to write my first novel, The House on Seventh Street. It was a labor of love.

About Joan

Joan attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning a degree in Political Science with a concentration in Communications. Writing a novel was always a dream she hoped to fulfill.

After raising three children with her husband, Mark, and retiring from her alma mater, she finally had the time to devote to writing. Joan creates heartwarming stories about love, loss, family, and faith by weaving fiction with real-life events.

Her work is also published in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. As a member of the Tri-State Writers Society, she continues to learn and hone her writing skills. She is currently working on her next novel.

Joan and her husband live in rural Ohio with their yellow Lab, Duke. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys reading, camping, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.
